The Driving Standards Agency simply advises that: the best way to learn is by having regular planned lessons with a good driving instructor, and as much practice as possible. So how do I decide which instructor to use.
There are two types of instructor licences issued Fully qualified ADIs should have a licence visible on the front screen of their car, with a green octagonal motif. We only use fully qualified experienced instructors so you can be sure you are getting the best value for your money
Trainee Instructors should have a licence visible on the front screen of their car; with a pink triangular motif. Do you feel this will give you good value for money?
So how many lessons will you need?
There is a rule of thumb that on average a learner will need one and a half hours of tuition for every year of his or her age. This may work for you, but if you're not "average", you might learn faster or slower than this.
You will also need a provisional licence and be of 17 years of age.
It's a lot to think about, but the quality of your early driving lessons will shape your entire driving career.
